[UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT OF 550 PAGES]. [Unidentified author] - Lot 398
[UNPUBLISHED MANUSCRIPT OF 550 PAGES]. [Unidentified author]. Castle of Flowers, 1933. Manuscript of 550 leaves, mostly 27 x 21 cm, sometimes stapled, in purple ink, lean and legible, red basane spine case titled and decorated with fleur-de-lis, laces. The text is introduced by this warning: "This work is a pathological study of the cerebral perversions and sexual derangements of the present age. It is a realistic documentation of exceptional morbid cases, and has been composed expressly for a limited circle of persons who may be interested in such subjects. Original copy. "According to the famous psychoanalyst Jean-Pierre Bourgeron: "While some psychoanalysts have been collectors of erotic texts, we know of no writings from this period [1928] that can be attributed with certainty to personalities in the psychoanalytic or psychiatric community. However, W.N. Shors, a bookseller in Amsterdam, offered his customers in October 1981 a collection of five flagellantic [!] and sado-masochistic manuscripts written by a circle of psychiatric students and young psychoanalysts living in the Paris area between 1920 and 1935. The reading of some of these manuscripts and the questioning of witnesses have not allowed me to date to know with certainty the origin of these texts written in the style of the famous Collection of White Nettles." Bibliography: Jean-Pierre Bourgeron, Marie Bonaparte et la psychanalyse, Honoré Champion, 1993, pages 170, 171 and 233. Provenance: Jean-Pierre Bourgeron Library.
