Weemaes Margot (1909-1996) Flowery Bouquet Etching Signed lower right, dated 1961, numbered 1/25, dedicated to Madame René Cottet. René Cottet, born on November 25, 1902 in Paris and died on April 24, 1992 in Nyons, was a French painter and engraver. He was a professor of intaglio engraving at the École supérieure des arts et industries graphiques Estienne (ESAIG) in Paris, a designer and engraver of postage stamps. Cottet designed and engraved more than six hundred stamps for France, Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco and Tunisia. As a tribute to him, one of his students, the engraver Pierre Albuisson, created in 2008 the René Cottet prize, which replaces the Créaphil prize and is also awarded each year at the Autumn Philatelic Exhibition in Paris. The winners are Claude Perchat in 2008, Cyril de La Patellière in 2009, Noëlle Le Guillouzic in 2010 and Sophie Beaujard in 2011. Slightly stained. Sheet: 53,5x39 cm subject: 29,5x20,5 cm
