Courtesan, listed in the register of the Police des Mœurs under number 331: "January 1873: Marquet Delphine, aged thirty-six, actress. She is a former dancer at the Opera, who left dancing for drama and comedy and then played at the Gymnase, where she had very little success. She has two sisters younger than herself, one, Louise, is a dancer at the Opera, the other, Elisa, played for some time at the Porte Saint-Martin. Delphine is very pretty and very clever. For twelve years she lived with Nestor Roqueplan, then with M. de Norzy, whom she ruined, and who for her sake had left his wife and daughter. She also had a very continuous relationship with the actor Dupuis, and with Anatole Lionnet. It is said that her worst association was with her mother, whereas she was driven to ruin every man she met."
