Félix Jacques-Antoine MOULIN (1802-1879), attributed to. Two - Lot 47
Félix Jacques-Antoine MOULIN (1802-1879), attributed to. Two intimate friends, circa 1851. Stereoscopic daguerreotype enhanced in color, produced on 1/3 or 2/6 plate, 8.5 x 17.3 cm. According to Serge Nazarieff, this is a "very agresive pornography that one might imagine was made to order". Moulin was the first photographer to be arrested for vice. The obscene images that justified his arrest had been commissioned by a broadcaster named Malacrida. The descriptions given in the indictment are very similar to this daguerreotype. Provenance: Uwe Scheid Collection. Label on verso: "Uwe Scheid, sammlung 1.061". Serge Nazarieff Collection, Geneva. Bibliography: Serge Nazarieff , Le Nu stéréoscopique 1850-1930, Filipacchi, 1985, no. 32, reproduced page 47, page 157.
