[Unidentified author]. 30 and some... attitudes. [S.l.,s.n.] - Lot 411
[Unidentified author]. 30 and some... attitudes. [S.l.,s.n.], 1952. Original lithographs by Jean de l'Étang. In-4 of 102 pages, 1 f. in ff. (red folder and slipcase, sunned and stained). First edition. Illustrated with 53 original lithographs by Jean Dulac including 2 for the cover, 23 off-text, 28 in-text. Limited edition of 200 copies. One of the 170 copies on paper pur fil. The date does not appear on the title page but in the print "in MCMLII". Dutel sees "29 in the text" and suggests, not without humour: "Wouldn't Jean de l'Étang be Jean Dulac? Apart from a namesake, a Belgian politician, the artist Jean Dulac (1902-1968) might have enjoyed using a pseudonym as clear as water. This would imply that Dulac, officer of the Academy, expert before the Courts, president of the Société de Secours pour les Artistes Lyonnais, honorary president of the Association des Anciens Élèves des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, vice-president of the Union des Sociétés Artistiques de Lyon, vice-president of the Section Régionale de la Confédération des Travailleurs Intellectuels, member of the Commission Départementale des Sites, and president of the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts, exemplified some rather scabrous attitudes once his commitments to all these offices were completed. "Dutel 2511, not in the BnF's Inferno.
