[COURTISANES SECOND EMPIRE] Lea d'ASCO (mid 19th century), actress. Vintage silver print, cabinet card size, 16.5 x 11 cm. By NADAR. A great courtesan, listed in the register of the Police des Mœurs under number 495: "Girard Émilie, Victorine, aged twenty, born in Paris, known as Léa d'Asco. She is a former milliner, who worked on Rue Richelieu, No. 106, and who now leads the life of a gallant woman and frequents the meeting houses. She has recently had intimate relations with the Count de Brayer, in the house of a pimp in the Rue de Provence, who has given her ten louis for her favours.
