My dear Mr. Rops, I have the pleasure of introducing you to my friend Henri d'Argis, author of a novel, Sodom, for which I wrote the preface, and who would be proud to have a frontispiece signed by you. He will go to see you next Tuesday and would be happy if you would set an hour for him to talk to you at some length, - unless, even without knowing the work, you would be disturbed by your silence in lieu of an appointment. Your friend P. Verlaine, 14 rue Roger Collard. M. d'Argis' address is 21 rue Denfert Rochereau. First edition. Original etched frontispiece by Félicien Rops. Limited edition of 347 copies.
