Oil on canvas On the back is the inscription of the first Parisian address of Jules Flandrin and Marie Vallet, then mistress and pupil of the painter under the pseudonym Jacqueline Marval: "Fritz Weber, 9 rue Campagne Première (...) à Paris Montparnasse 1895". 81 x 65 cm In 1895, Jacqueline Marval began her apprenticeship with Jules Flandrin. They lived at this address until January 1913, when they moved to 40 rue Denfert Rochereau. We kindly thank Doctor Flandrin, nephew of the artist, for having confirmed orally the authenticity of the work. Provenance: Private collection, Grenoble
