UKRAINE. Anatoly BRUSILOVSKY (born in Odessa, in 1932). Composition, circa 1980. Ink drawing, 31 x 23 cm. Brusilovsky studied at the Kharkiv Institute of Art and became a member of the group of non-conformist artists from 1960, during the Soviet period. In 2009, a solo exhibition, Pantheon of the Russian Underground, was dedicated to him at the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow. On the back of the drawing is a photocopied dedication by the artist to Prince Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky, a Russian aristocrat born in Sofia in 1936 and now living in London. He is known as an art collector, especially on the subject of Theatre and Ballet: 'To Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky in honour of his anniversary Anatoly Brusilovsky conveys this gift with great respect and wishes of all blessing'. This drawing was bought directly from Prince Lobanov in London. Provenance: Tony Fekete Library.
