CURIOSA. ILLUSTRATED MANUSCRIPT. Pierre ALBERTI. La Lyre et - Lot 441
CURIOSA. ILLUSTRATED MANUSCRIPT. Pierre ALBERTI. La Lyre et le saxo, 1952 [or 1930s]. E. Briere, fec. 1952. In-4 of 34 leaves on J. Annonay, 25 x 16.2 cm, strong orange paper folder, monogrammed "P.A." in ink on the first cover. Manuscript comprising 32 poems of 2 quatrains and 2 tercets each; Omphale, Le Champion, Danaé, Dollars, Pasiphae, Star, Le Centaure, Au Bois de Boulogne, Sapho, Petit ménage, Ganymède, Le Chasseur, Narcisse, Solitude, Les Trois coupes, Le Coquillage, Circé, Spécialité, Léda, Mona, Pygmalion, Montparno, La Courtisane vierge (The virgin courtesan), Viol blanc (The white rape), Messaline, Au Bal musette (The musette ball), Salomé, Éducation anglaise (English education), Les Bacchantes (The Bacchantes), La Petite "Pigalle" (The little Pigalle), Psyché and Initiée (The initiated). Illustrated with 16 original colored pencil drawings. Something is wrong with the handwritten justifications; the mention "E. Briere" on the penultimate leaf refers to E. Briere, active only in the previous generation, between 1895 and 1930, and the poet Pierre Alberti does not appear anywhere. It seems that the mentions on this illustrated manuscript are false. This original could be older...
