U. R. S. S. Banner of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, 80 x 140 cm. The reverse side bears the inscription "Proletarians of all countries, unite! Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism. Under the leadership of the Communist Party for the victory of Communism. ". Provenance: Régine Deforges. Hanging for several decades in her longère in Boutigny-sur-Opton, this banner is said to have been a gift from Mikhail Gorbachev to the famous publisher, during one of his trips to the Soviet Union.
