Enriched with an additional state in color for 9 of the 10 etchings, and 42 prints in black and bistre or black and yellow, on different papers. Rousseurs. The prolific Parisian publisher Georges Briffaut knew a good commercial illustrator illustrator when he met one, and following the success of Délassements d'Éros, he commissioned Gerda Wegener to create illustrations for a deluxe edition of the selected memoirs of Giacomo Casanova. Wegener produced ten finely detailed paintings, which were beautifully rendered and embellished by master engraver André Lambert. All copies, with the exception of the 25 most copies, contained only eight of the ten illustrations.
