MARINE and miscellaneous. Excursions aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm II, Venice and various, 1897-1900. 43 silver prints, various formats. Some plates are captioned in French in ink on the sheet and on the reverse in pencil in English. According to Wikipedia, "The yacht inaugurates the Kiel Canal in 1895, then travels in summer to Sweden and England, the following year to Italy and Sweden. In 1897, she was in Molde, Kronstadt and Sweden. In 1898, he accompanied the Kaiser to the Lofoten Islands, Italy, on pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Palestine, and back to Pola in Istria. The summer of 1899 saw him sail to Drontheim, Bergen and England. In 1900, she returned to Drontheim and England, and was equipped with a wireless radio. The Kaiser sailed aboard the SMY Hohenzollern II at the end of January to England for the funeral of Queen Victoria, William II's grandmother, which took place on February 2, 1901."
