CURIOSA. [Alvim CORREA (1876-1930)] Henry Le MORT. Erotic Visions, 1907. 2 colored pencil drawings, 33.5 x 25 cm. One is signed with Corréa's monogram and titled and dated Obsession, 1907. A few small folds to the corners. In 1903, this Brazilian-born illustrator executed a series of 132 remarkable illustrations for H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds, for which he personally requested authorization. Following the author's approval in 1905, his work was published in a deluxe edition of 500 copies in 1906 by L. Vandamme & Cie. And, as is often the case, for his own pleasure and food, he executed a few series of erotic illustrations, under the pseudonym Henri Lemort. Bilder-Lexikon IV, 387-390. 2006. Bibliothèque Érotique Gérard Nordmann - Part 2, lot 144.
