First edition. Among 26 copies on pure rag Moulin des Clercs vat paper, the first of 4 collaborator's copies, plus 20 numbered in roman and 2 author's copies. 20 color etchings by Robert Naly, printed by R[oger] Lacourière, all justified and signed by the artist, plus two trial prints, one enhanced with gouache by hand, the other with remarks absent from the edition. A rare and little-known work. Naly, painter, engraver and decorator, studied law in Geneva. In 1920, he left the city to devote himself to painting in Montparnasse, where he frequented Kisling and Soutine. He arrived on the Butte in 1927 and settled permanently in 1939 in the house at 16, rue Saint-Vincent.
